Welcome to the web site for the Diocesan Department of Religious Education. The purpose of the site is to disseminate good practice in RE as well as informing RE  teachers in the diocese about initiatives that affect RE and Catholic schools

Inspection reports: pre 2009 reports are archived on this site, however newer inspection reports can be found on RE-Live the Department's resources website - see below for more information. RE-Live is also a resources sharing area where RE teachers across the diocese can upload/download teaching resources to share.

How to find us The Department of RE is situated on the Fr Hudson's Society complex on Coventry Road, Coleshill. Don Bosco House is to the left of Sacred Heart and St Teresa parish church. It is clearly marked. For access from different directions click on the link to obtain a map.

RE-Live is the new resources site for the department. Any primary or secondary RE team can have access to the site but need a password and user name available from the department. The only request we have is that teachers add as much as they contribute. For further information contact Clive Wright or Sarah Boyle part of the secondary advisory team.

We also have other resources sites, these can now be accessed below: some primary and 6th form resources are hosted on www.theredepartment.co.uk and some secondary resources are hosted on www.theresource.org.uk. SECTION 48 INSPECTION REPORTS

No further inspection reports will be published on this site. All new reports, and those dating back to September 2008, are published on the department's interactive website RE-Live (www.re-live.org). All diocesan schools may register to gain full access to that site, but others may use the site by signing is as guests.

Reports prior to September 2008 may be found on the Catholic Education Service website (click here).

Diocesan Schools Commission

The Diocesan Schools Commission gives advice and support on School Governance, Leadership and Ethos. It helps schools with regard to building initiatives as well as offering legal advice and support regarding Canonical Issues.
